Our goal with the Dayton Battle of the Bands is to give a platform for the outstanding local musical talent we have in the Dayton community, while providing a prize package that helps launch them to their next level. This series provides a unique opportunity for musical acts to play in a premier Dayton venue and enjoy the networking benefits from music industry professionals.
THE BRIGHTSIDE Music & event venue
The Brightside is the home of Dayton Battle of the Bands. It's a renovated industrial event space for music and events in the heart of downtown Dayton. The venue is owned and operated by Carli & Hamilton Dixon, artists and business owners who have poured their hearts into reclaiming this gem!
Noteworthy and authentic things have been happening in Dayton since its inception, whether the rest of the world noticed or not. With that history and heritage, they could not think of any better love letter to our city than to breathe life into this building and create a destination that makes Daytonians proud.

VENUS CHILD PRODUCTIONS
Venus Child Productions organizes Dayton Battle of the Bands and is the Music Booker at The Brightside. VCP is the brainchild of Libby Ballengee is known as "Dayton's Music Insider" from her long-running blog, She is a concert promoter, journalist, photographer, and philanthropist. Libby is known for presenting eclectic and exciting special events that showcase her love of live music, dance, art, meditation, and wellness.

Sound Valley is responsible for the video production & marketing for Dayton Battle of the Bands. SV is a community-driven initiative with the goal of bringing regional and national attention to Dayton’s vibrant and growing music scene. Sound Vallet believes that by working together we can put a national spotlight on the natural homegrown talent that exists right here in the Miami Valley.

Dayton Sound Studios is a proud sponsor of Dayton Battle of the Bands. They award the grand prize winner an EP recording session in their Kettering studio!
DSS has 3 studios with mixing consoles and outboard gear. In addition to studio space, DSS offers rehearsal space and lessons for students, hobbyists, or professionals. Little Monster Printing is a proud supporter of Dayton Battle of the Bands. LMP is a screen printing shop located in Dayton, OH. They've been creating pulled prints since 2002. They can print on pretty much any sort of garment you can think of! They are also able to do flat stock printing on paper, wood, metal, etc.

Victoria Swearingen is a photographer specializing in concert
photography and music promotions. A graduate of Middle
Tennessee State University, she draws on her Music Business degree to collaborate with artists across the live music industry. After returning to her hometown of Dayton, Ohio, Swearingen now brings that experience back to her roots, capturing the energy of the Dayton music scene and the artists who continue to shape it.
